Living with the 'thorn in your flesh' - Who/What is your John Mark?
Ever heard of necessary evils? That's basically what I'm talking about today. There's an interesting story in the Bible about Paul and Barnabas. They were great friends. After Saul had been converted and returned to Jerusalem, Barnabas had to speak to the disciples to allow him fellowship with them because they didn't trust him(Acts 9:26). And that's quite understandable, dude was killing believers previously. Fast forward to Acts 15 and the two brothers had a sharp disagreement. They were preparing to visit the believers in towns where they had preached the word to see how they were doing. Barnabas then suggested that his Cousin, John Mark should come along to assist. Apostle Paul however disagreed vehemently saying that John Mark had abandoned them on their first missionary journey in Pamphylia(Col. 4:10). I don't know why John Mark behaved that way. Maybe he was still growing spiritually and didn't understand the import of the commitment that come...
