'Cocaine Soup', 'Wee Stew' is the latest Delicacy Among Cape Coast Youth
Yes! You read right, cocaine soup and Wee stew.Its sad and funny at the same time. I thought I had heard it all until now.
The Ghana Police Service organised a sensitization program for the Police Ladies Association in Cape Coast recently and the Central Regional Police Commander, DCOP Paul Awini mentioned that the youth of Cape Coast are increasingly concealing dangerous drugs in soups and stews. This he said makes arresting culprits difficult because usually when users smoke marijuana for instance its easy to apprehend them due to the peculiar scent it emits.
He called for a review of the educational system to stamp out youth unemployment. According to the DCOP, many of the youth arrested for the use and abuse of illicit drugs have cited unemployment as a reason for their addiction to the drugs.
Hear him;
“There are a lot of the armed robbers if you talk to them closely, they will tell you they have no jobs. Most of them do that out of hunger. Imagine people who are graduates are unable to get jobs. These people join groups that end up committing many heinous crimes in the country,”
My take, Yes, the educational system should be reviewed and more jobs created but people need Jesus! You don't have a job but you have money to buy cocaine?smh
